Outdoor activities are plenty in Austin. Lake Travis and Lake Austin both allow for lots of water activities from water skiing, boating, kayaking, and scuba diving? Yes, scuba diving.

Zilker park also has lots of grassy areas, picnic areas, and swimming in the natural Barton Springs. Hiking is plentiful and a great place to hike to is Hamilton pool nature preserve in Travis County where you can take a dip in the cool swimming hole after a short hike.

If outdoors activities are not your thing, then have some delicious barbecue at the Salt Lick or at the County line. Dining is always a pleasure in Austin as there are lots of restaurants that dot the shores of Lake Travis and there is generally live music playing.

Finally the campus of the University of Texas where the Longhorns call home is always a great place to wander around.
