I've been hurt by the current credit freeze mainly because others have also been hurt. Personally I have good credit and when my credit was checked twice, both times I came away with good results. When they turned on my power recently, if my credit score was bad, I would have needed a deposit. And I got a better auto insurance rate because of my good credit.
But several of my clients have cut back because of the credit crisis. With less credit and less money to pay they bills, they cut back where they can and that unfortunately means less money for me, even though I have good credit and pay all of my bills on time.
I did everything right and yet I still suffer from the credit freeze. One client paid me every week on time until the credit freeze. Now I find myself letting her not pay me every week but instead she's paying me once a month when she gets paid. I also see her less often. Another client wanted to keep me on but couldn't afford to.
