FHA Home Loan Appraisal Requirements
Kate, We close on a house in a week and the FHA home loan lender tacked on $4600 for lender required repairs. We had the appraisal done but now the lender is saying they aren't requiring the repairs.



Is it required by FHA to have window screens on all windows? And I read that on heating and A/C units there has to be at least 2 years of remaining life left. Our A/C unit was vandalized. All they left was the shell.

Are these things that FHA requires to be repaired prior to closing?
