How to Pick a Real Estate Agent When Buying a House

by Home Buyer

Regarding How to Pick a Real Estate Agent When Buying a House: Kate, I found a good way to choose a real estate agent when buying a house. I have worked with numerous real estate agents over the course of my adult life, all in the usual course of buying and selling my personal homes.

I look for one who is "hungry" - one who returns my calls, is willing to show properties come rain or shine, is dependable, innovative, and respects my opinions.

Please note that some real estate agents only work part time. Needless to say, I look for one that dedicates their full attention to my search.

Word of mouth referrals are also a good way to find your real estate agent.

I also feel that I must add that I have never had a real estate agent who did not become very friendly and chummy in the course of buying a house, but I have not maintained any personal relationships with any of them. Yes, I'm on their business mailing lists, but that's the extent of it after the sale even though it doesn't seem like it will be that way before the deal is closed.

Kate Answers: How to Pick a Real Estate Agent When Buying a House

Dear Home Buyer, Thanks for your comments on the importance of choosing your best real estate agent when buying a house. Word of mouth is a powerful tool.

Remember to ask friends when they were buying a house which real estate agents returned their phone calls. In my opinion, this is Number One.

More great criteria, were they dependable, innovative, convenient and respectful of opinions!

Sincerely,
