Ask Kate: Need Refinancing Advice Kate, can you offer refinancing advice to avoid mortgage foreclosure? My fiance got injured on his job. He has been out of work since July and collecting Workman's Compensation. But it doesn't pay enough to pay the mortgage, child support and the rest of the bills.

He has managed to last this long, but now he is facing foreclosure. His mortgage company can't help him because he isn't back to work yet. He needs another surgery before he can go back to work which could take up to another three months.
