San Diego One Stop Vacationing

I recently got back from a trip to San Diego. What a vacation! I can't imagine anywhere else where there are so many incredible things to do. As an animal lover, my first stop was the world-famous San Diego Zoo.
You really need at least a whole day to see all the amazing creatures and to take in all the shows. The Zoo is located in the heart of Balboa Park, which could be the heart of a holiday all on it's own. Besides the furry creatures on display, there are a pile of museums - a model railway museum, antique car museum, history of aviation museum, and many others. Balboa park also has an amazing Science Discovery Center that is fun for kids and grown ups alike, as well as an array of botanical gardens and horticultural markets.
If the beach is more your alley, you can find it there too. Miles and miles of sand and surf offer a variety of beaches where you can tan, swim, and relax. Besides being a great place to hang out, San Diego's Oceanside is also home to a U.S. Naval Base. Take a romantic cruise, enjoy a ferry ride across the bay to Coronado Island, or tour a decommissioned aircraft carrier - there are many ways to enjoy the water.
Downtown holds the Gaslamp District. Fine dine is where it's at and there are restaurants for every taste and budget. The Gaslamp quarter is known as the place to be in San Diego - whether you are after drinks, dancing or comedy, you'll find it here. For the sports fans, Petco park is just down the street. We watched the Padres play while we visited and next time we go we'll try to get Chargers tickets!
We visited San Diego for one week - and we'll be going back soon. There was just so much to see and do, we couldn't squeeze it all in! Legoland, Sea World, whale-watching, snorkeling - that's our to-do list for the next trip.
