San Diego So Much To See And Do

I have vacationed a number of times in San Diego, either alone or with a friend. Several things attract us to it again and again: great places to stay, cultural activities, and restaurants.
We have stayed thus far only in bed and breakfast inns, but they have been wonderful. If you crave an escape from noisy neighbors and screaming kids in hotels, try a bed and breakfast in San Diego. The Heritage Park Inn, next to Old Town, is a 19th century restored gem with unique rooms, carefully prepared rooms, afternoon tea, classic films, and nice concierge service. We also stayed often at the Villa Serena, which was a Mediterranean style bed and breakfast on Rosecrans; it had a pool and spa as well as three big rooms and fantastic breakfasts.
Cultural activities are another draw. San Diego has a tremendous number of museums, most of which are located in Balboa Park. This large complex has free admission to some museums on any given day, along with an IMAX theater, Spanish arts village, restaurants, a large pipe organ, and places to picnic, walk dogs, and just enjoy the botanical variety. It is also close to the famous zoo.
San Diego's restaurants are also excellent. The Fish Market restaurant, near the USS Midway, has all kinds of seafood, plus the best key lime pie. Anthony's, next to the Maritime Museum, also offers fine seafood and an ocean view. Seafood lovers must also visit Cafe Pacifica in Old Town, right next to the old cemetery.
These are just a few reasons to love San Diego!
