30 year fixed rate mortgages PLUNGE averaging 4.01 percent, down from last week's 4.09 and down from last year's 4.32.
15 year fixed rate mortgages average 3.28 percent, down from last week's 3.29 and last year's 3.75 percent at this time.
5 year mortgage, fixed for the first 60 months and adjustable for the following 25 years average 3.02 percent this week, same as last week. 12 months ago the hybrid averaged 3.52 percent.
1 year T-bill adjustable mortgage rates average 2.83 percent, up from last week's 2.82 and down from last year's 3.48 percent.

Now for current mortgage rates and trends - For the week ending September 22, 2011, fixed mortgage rates continue their stable trends.
30 year fixed rate mortgage averaged 4.09 percent, same as last week and down from last year's 4.37.
15 year fixed rate mortgage averaged 3.29 percent, down from last week's 3.30 and last year's 3.82 percent at this time.
1 year T-bill adjustable mortgage rates averaged 2.82 percent, up from last week's 2.81 and down from last year's 3.46 percent.
Here's what went up also -- the 5 year mortgage, fixed for the first 60 months and adjustable for the following 25 years. It averaged 3.02 percent this week, up from last week's 2.99. 12 months ago the hybrid averaged 3.54 percent.
