While I have never lived in Seattle, I do go there quite often. As someone who lives within 20 minutes of Seattle, I know why people want to visit. You find a wide variety of restaurants living under one roof. Pick what you want to eat, Asian, seafood, Greek, fine dining, family style, vegan, or even if you’re a meat lover, there’s something for you.

If culture is your thing, you’ll find Asian, Native American, Scandinavian and Art museums. Take your pick. You’ll find art galleries, fine wine, museums dedicated to science and aerospace, ballet, orchestra, opera and every form of theater under the sun.

You’ll find pro women’s basketball, football, baseball and soccer if sports your thing. You’ll find places to rent you a bike to explore the acres upon acres of green trails in Seattle’s many parks.

A must for any visitor is Pike Place Market. I love going there. Why? Because you’ll never know what hidden treasure you mind find. No chain stores here. Nothing but home grown mom and pop type owned stores. Comic books stores, small coffee shops, restaurants of all sorts, vendors selling just pulled from the boat fresh fish, butcher shops that sell only the freshest meats and produce stands with clean, crisp, fresh fruits and veggies just waiting to be taken home. Don’t know what to do with kumquats or fresh sage or some other fruit, spices or veggie you never heard of until you saw it on the vendors cart? No worries. The vendors are more than happy to share mouth watering ways to cook their items.

Why do so many people love Seattle? Because these are just a few of the many, many reasons. There’s so much to explore in Seattle that anyone can find something they like.
